ABSTRACT
The article reports on the $23 million contract awarded to Socotherm Americas company to coat 540 kilometers of pipe that will be utilized in building a pipeline between Brazilian states of Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. The work will be performed by applying a three-layer high density Polyethylene anticorrosion coating called PLASTIKOTE on the 24-inch and 26-inch pipes. In addition, the coating work will start in 2008 at the Socotherm Americas facilities located in Sao Paolo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
