ABSTRACT
The article reports on nonprescription drugs for sexually transmitted diseases (STD). A study from Great Britain's University of East Anglia says these are often unregulated, untested, and unclear about side effects. They found that 52 Great Britain and U.S. vendors sold 77 medications claiming natural or herbal ingredients treating genital warts, herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea with little evidence of effectiveness. This is dangerous due to the periods in STDs where no symptoms occur.
