ABSTRACT
The article reports on the proposal of Pulaski County sheriff Doc Holladay to build a new jail or add onto the existing jail in Arkansas. The sheriff remarked that his proposal is better than renovating the old facility that was closed in April 2007 because of a leaking roof and other health hazards. A study estimated that the cost of repairing the old jail is about $5.7 million, $4.7 million more than the county's estimate. Information on the jail's population in 2007 is also given.
