ABSTRACT
The article reports on the migration of about 40,000 walruses due to the melting Arctic sea ice in the Russian Arctic. The scientists believe that the melting of Arctic sea ice is a result of global warming, and reveal the reduction of sea-ice thickness by 40% in the last 30 years. As such, the area is being protected by the local community through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)-supported association.
