ABSTRACT
There have been dramatic improvements in the medical treatment of persons with HIV/A IDS. This article provides an overview of the new medical treatments, highlights some of the salient psychosocial issues that impact both clients and counselors, discusses common counselor responses, and suggests some helpful interventions.
