The article features Imad Mahawili, executive director of the Grand Valley State University Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center (MAREC) in Muskegon. Aside from being a research center, MAREC also serves as a business incubator for alternative-energy ventures and as a provider of educational opportunities. Mahawili says he wants to influence young people on the use of alternative or renewable energy.
