ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in the U.S. utility sector's focus on other opportunities for growth through investment in infrastructure, renewables, energy efficiency and construction of generation plants despite challenges to such activities, based on a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers. U.S. utility companies have noted the approaches that state regulators are expected to use in dealing with state request to recover higher costs. The issue on the deals being sought by utilities in European Union countries over the past 2007 is also discussed.
