ABSTRACT
The article reports on the roundtable discussion on how the retail sector can more efficiently manage its energy use sponsored by the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The event, which was held in Washington in February 2008, was considered a first step in forming the Retailer Energy Alliance (REA). The aim of REA is to combine business leadership skills with government capabilities to influence U.S. energy use.
