ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the guidelines for the conservation of the former city hall of Ottawa in Ontario which was built in 1959. The building was completed during the intense period of urban expansion and economic growth across the country. It describes the challenges of stewardship for the said building and its site. Also, it outlines the role of the conservation guidelines in protecting the modern heritage values of the former city hall.
