ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of beverage alcohol producers, Foster's Group and Lion Nathan to voluntarily cease the manufacturing and marketing of ready-to-drink beverages containing high alcohol content and energizing ingredients. Alcohol abuse organizations in Australia have voiced concerns about high alcohol products containing energy drink ingredients such as caffeine and taurine. Foster's will no longer market Cougar Volt or Karloff Energy drink brands and will reduce the alcohol content of its Cougar XX bourbon and Coke pre-mixed product.
