ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the battle of technology options that is playing in the nuclear reactor arena. It states that General Electric (GE), Hitachi and Toshiba signed their first nuclear cooperative business agreement in 1967 and this worked well for years due to 31 boiling water reactor (BWR) plants which were built in Japan by GE's Japanese builders. It cites that Toshiba fell out with its other teammates when it acquires Westinghouse Electric and its AP1000 pressurized water reactor (PWR) technology in October 2006.
