ABSTRACT
The article reports on a carbon capture deal that was signed by Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) with Masdar, the renewable energy and clean technology in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to capture carbon dioxide from flue gas and to recycle the gas as feedstock for the production of urea. The plan will be developed under the United Nations' Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The gas will be recycled at the fertilizer complex of GPIC at Sitra, Bahrain.
