ABSTRACT
The article presents some observations regarding unsolicited e-mail or spam. It is pointed out that spam is a run-down neighborhood in the world of information of the Internet. However, it is observed that it was not the Internet that originated spam because in the late 19th century , Western Union permitted the transmission of telegraphic messages to several destinations.
