ABSTRACT
The article reports on the amendment of the Russian toleration law so as to allow open transition from the Christian faith to non-Christian tenets. The law was proposed by Minister Pyotr Stolypin, but was opposed by the Right. However, it was supported by the Octobrists and the Left. On the other hand, the Russian press is totally opposed to it, appealing for the authorities not to betray Orthodoxy.
