ABSTRACT
The article presents a global economic review. It states that the slowdown in world economic growth began in mid-2007 and continued in the first half of 2008, while the growth is estimated to have decreased to around 4% on the annualised basis in 2008. According to the article, the continued weakness in the U.S. housing sector and the poor performance of the country's equity market continue to adversely affect the global financial system and confidence in the global equity market.
