The article focuses on the use of transportation management software (TMS) by shippers and third-party logistics to address high fuel prices. According to AMR Research, the global market for supply chain management software posted sales of $6 billion in 2007. Adrian Gonzalez, director of the logistics executive council at ARC Advisory Group, mentioned that the TMS market was worth around $1.1 billion.
