ABSTRACT
The article reports on the hijacking incident in Somalia. According to the article, more than a dozen cargo tankers have been hijacked by pirates living in Somalia. They operate off the east coast of the African nation as many of the large ships make their way to the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. The pirates steal the ship's goods or hold the ship and its crew for ransom. Shipping companies have paid as much as $1 million for the safe return of their ships and crews.
