ABSTRACT
This article provides an overview of how the transactions involving troubled assets of U.S. financial institutions will be made under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. It explains that the Act is aimed at restoring liquidity and stability to the credit markets and includes a wide range of measures. The U.S. Department of the Treasury will have to create the implemeting rules and guidelines for the execution of the mechanisms provided by the law.
