ABSTRACT
The article discusses the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, which was signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on October 3, 2008, and its impact on the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The primary objective of the law is to provide authority for the government to acquire and insure certain types of troubled assets. The law includes a provision which changes section 7704(d)(1)(E) of the code about the definition of qualifying income.
