ABSTRACT
The article reports on the effort of Canadian and U.S. government and military personnel improve maritime security in North America. Canada has created Marine Security Operations Centers to manage, analyze and exchange maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data. According to U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Evan M. Chanik, the U.S. Coast Guard Area Atlantic and the Canadian Coast Guard are equal partners during monthly exercises to help identify problem areas on both sides of the border.
