ABSTRACT
The article presents several cases related to jail staffing in the U.S. It includes one which relates the failure of a jail personnel to prevent an inmate assault which results to the death of a prisoner within its vicinity. Another states about a detainee who hung himself, due to lack of mental health care provided by the facility. It also includes the case of a prisoner who died out of meningitis and pneumonia inside his cell.
