ABSTRACT
The artcle reports that several local government associations in the U.S. have been pressing President Barack Obama to including funding for shovel-ready infrastructure projects in his economic stimulus plan called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The president has appointed sitting and former local and state government officials to key roles in his administration.
