ABSTRACT
Generally, in clothing, fur is leather with the hair retained from beautiful animal skins. In early times of the Ottoman Empire fur is used for saving of humans from cold, later it became as luxurious and ceremonial item. Furs were given as official gifts such as fur-lined robes, hilats during in ceremonies. They were worn by sultans, viziers, seyhülislâms and other high ranked officers of the empire.
