ABSTRACT
The article reports on the university literacy course for secondary preservice teachers developed by Colorado State University through a university/public school partnership in Fort Collins, Colorado. A large weekly lecture and a small weekly recitation class where they learned literacy strategies were given to preservice teachers. The strategies are practiced by preservice teachers in a junior high classroom with students weekly.
