ABSTRACT
The article reports that Valero Energy Corp. has bought seven ethanol plants, and another plant under development, from VeraSun Energy Corp. for $477 million. VeraSun and its subsidiaries had filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware approved its sale to Valero on March 18, 2009. Valero had beaten Archer Daniels Midland Co. to procure the plants that have the capacity to produce 780 million gallons of ethanol a year.
