ABSTRACT
The article offers information on vegetarian diet. A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, fish or fowl, or any products containing these items. A vegetarian diet typically focuses on grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables. It notes that people who choose a vegetarian diet may be concerned about the environment, animal welfare or world hunger. The article also refers to a study which revealed that participants who adhered to a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet were able to reduce intakes of fat and calories, and reduce body weight.
