ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grants offered by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Those who can compete for the grants include highway, transit and passenger-rail projects, along with port, freight-rail and multimodal projects. A waiver authority to award grants of less than $20 million for projects in smaller localities is being given by ARRA.
