ABSTRACT
The article reports on the efforts by the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama and Congress to rectify problems associated with the economic stimulus package. According to Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the bill came too late for the spring barge which resulted in stalled projects. Lawmakers raised concerns on the failure of the stimulus package to create the 3 million jobs that supporters promised. Congress has been urged to pass an 18-month extension of the law.
