ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the view of Judge Sonia Sotomayor of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which relates to free speech and association, freedom of religion and freedom of the press. The Center for Individual Freedom revealed that out of 19 First Amendment cases handled by Sotomayor, she has sided with the individual only five times. The author claims that Sotomayor protects freedom of the press but rejects student speech and political speech.
