The article reports that the faculty union at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan has filed a grievance over the process Wayne State's President Doctor Jay Noren used in hiring doctor Valerie Parisi as interim medical school dean. It was alleged that Noren violated the union contract in signing Parisi to a three-year contract without seeking advice from the union or a vote. Michael Wright, associate vice president of marketing and communications said that grievance has no merit.
