ABSTRACT
The article discusses the harmonogram, a form of graphical analysis used by management pioneer Karol Adamiecki in developing a theory of work harmonization in Poland. His harmonograms were various work flow network diagrams, which resulted in graphical solutions to production problems. The work flow networks are associated with the family of methods, which incorporates the best features of the Gantt charts together with the network concept. Reasons are given for Gantt charts not having been recognized as utilizing work-flow concept. Program evaluation and revue techniques (PERT) are discussed.
