ABSTRACT
The article reports on the need for a second economic stimulus package as suggested by economists so as to provide relief and generate jobs in the U.S. The economic reports for July 2009 has prompted economists to warn the federal government about the need for a stronger action in order to create jobs, extend unemployment benefits and stop foreclosures. According to Heidi Schierhold, an analyst at the Economic Policy Institute, additional policy interventions should include an immediate extension of federal unemployment benefits.
