ABSTRACT
The article reports the plan of University of Utah researchers in Salt Lake City to pump cool water and pressurized water into a dry geothermal well during a five-year 10.2 million dollars study to boost and expand geothermal power plant productivity. Leading the research effort at U.S. Geothermal Incorporated's Raft River power plant in southeast Idaho is Energy & Geoscience Institute (EGI) geologist Joe Moore. Almost 7.4 million dollars of the project's cost will be paid by the U.S. Department of Energy.
