ABSTRACT
The article reports on the discovery of fingerprints of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh on the edge of his painting "Summer Evening" he created while the mistral wind was blowing in Arles, France in 1888. Conservator Ella Hendriks analyzed the fingerprints and cites the possibility that they belong to the artist. According to her, the painting technique of Van Gogh is represented by "Summer Evening." It is noted that several of his other paintings have less clear fingerprints that could possibly be used for authentication purposes.
