The article reports that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a federal lawsuit against Vermilion Parish school district in Louisiana on behalf of an unnamed parent whose two daughters were placed in single-sex classes at Rene A. Post Middle School. The school superintendent states that single-sex classes are voluntary but the ACLU says the eighth grade daughter was told she would have be in a special needs class if she did not want to be in the single-sex class.
