ABSTRACT
The article presents an argument against stimulus spending by the Canadian government in response to the 2009 recession. It is the author's opinion that increased government spending will be inefficient and fail to address the causes of the recession. A history of the 2008-2009 global financial crisis is presented and economic cycles are discussed. The author supports allowing the economy to naturally reset itself.
