ABSTRACT
The article discusses politics in Afghanistan and the re-election of incumbent president Hamid Karzai. Some are claiming that the election results could be a result of corrupt practices. In response to such rumors, U.S. president Barack Obama has suggested that Karzai not declare the election a victory. The relations between the U.S. and Afghanistan and Karzai's need to keep his constituents happy are discussed.
