ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the issue of installing high-speed rail in Illinois. It states that passenger train advocates in the state as well as in the U.S. got their day as the federal government placed 8 billion dollars for grants to states that are developing high-speed train corridors. On the other hand, criticism speculates that the cost of high-speed rail will burden tax payers while the grants are not enough against the tens of billions of dollars to realize key rail projects.
