ABSTRACT
The article discusses the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the Israeli Sergeant Gilad Shalit. The Palestinian Islamic socio-political organization Hamas is demanding the release of Palestinian political leader Marwan Barghouti and the convicted bomb maker Abdullah Barghouti. Public opinion polls report that Israelis do not support the release of violent killers like Abdullah in exchange for Shalit.
