ABSTRACT
The article tackles the impact of the recession on the spa industry. It stresses that most medical spas and practices are forced to produce less-expensive alternative treatments and value-priced products for their patients. Other areas of the industry that suffered due to the recession are marketing, advertising, and promotion budgets but electronic mail marketing and social media served as cost-effective methods for interacting with patients. It is noted that inventory management has become critical to medical spas and practices during the recession.
