The article provides an overview of studies related to adult basic education (ABE). One study examines the link between teacher qualifications and learner achievement in adult numeracy. Another offers an analysis of the issues of accountability in adult literacy through three case studies. Another one presents a cost-benefit analysis of training in adult literacy.
