ABSTRACT
The article reports that ten out of 90 tropical countries did not submit surveys to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, Leeds University geographer Alan Grainger said. The data were required to reveal emission savings from programs to cut carbon emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD). He also debated that World Forest Observatory should be established to work with forest scientists and expand their work by providing maps of changing forest cover every year, and to check levels of avoided deforestation.
