ABSTRACT
The article presents an argument for the benefits of online social networking. It is the author's opinion that social networking web sites allow individuals to maintain connections with friends, family members, and interest groups. The value of communication facilitated by social networking sites, the quality of life reported by the users of social networking sites, and the ability to make friends and broaden personal contacts through the use of social networking sites are discussed.
