This article suggests that the Libyan politician Muammar Kaddafi has negatively influenced the African Union (AU) in his year of service as its Chairman, pointing to his support of a coup in Mauritania and the arming of Somali insurgents, and notes that he will likely be replaced by Malawian President Bingu wa Mutharika in February, 2010.
