ABSTRACT
The article describes the case of chyloperitoneum after laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) in a 40-year-old obese patient who was admitted for surgery on May 31, 2007. The patient had a history of shortness of breath, carpal tunnel syndrome and joint disease. The patient was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic Florida and was scheduled for an elective diagnostic laparoscopy. A chylus fluid accumulating in the right upper quadrant was seen upon inspection of the abdominal cavity.
