ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to improve its controls over Climate Change Agreements (CCAs) after they expire in March 2013 in Great Britain. It states that CCAs are carbon-cutting sectoral agreements, which provide relief for participants to meet carbon dioxide emission reduction targets. According to DECC, this change is necessary to ensure that the post-2013 CCAs and the energy products taxation directive are compatible.
