ABSTRACT
The author looks at the recruitment and employment process, lamenting the way job applicants are treated and blames leaders of companies for the unpleasant experiences by jobseekers. She highlights the prevailing procedures in the recruitment departments of "Fortune 500" firms which she describes as outmoded, tedious, and inefficient. She states that employee relationships and recruitment practices should be improved now as the economic recovery will soon lead to labor shortages where talented people will be hard to find.
