ABSTRACT
The article discusses the significance of increased energy efficiency and renewable energy generation to achieve energy independence. The author emphasizes that a country must change the way how it uses and sources energy so that it is not dependent on those petroleum-exporting countries. It notes that energy independence can also be achieved by using less energy to become more efficient but also expand renewable energy resources such as solar and wind.
