ABSTRACT
The article reports on the effort of Pennsylvania officials to invest 5 million dollars in federal recovery money in eight alternative energy projects. Governor Edward Rendell states that using federal stimulus dollars for large-scale alternative energy projects allow Pennsylvania to move forward to meet future long-term energy needs, while creating multiple short-term benefits. He adds that the projects develop methods for handling various waste streams in an environmentally friendly manners.
