The article explores the effects of the social networking site Facebook.com from Facebook Inc. to student retention and transfer. It examines the observations of Gina-Lyn Crance, vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Albright College in Pennsylvania in which she notes the effect of Facebook popping up whenever she conducts exit interviews to students. She notices that students have become less concerned about losing their face-to-face connections with peers and are not afraid of missing their friends. It notes that the social networking site enables students to keep in touch and connected with past acquaintances.
